Our Tutors and Staff

Our Math Addvantage tutors have an unmatched level of math expertise and include teachers, engineers and mathematicians. Beyond their technical understanding of mathematics, they are able to teach difficult concepts in a variety of ways. Our ACT Addvantage tutors are professional experts in their respective fields — Math, Science, Reading and English ACT.

To ensure peace of mind for our parents, we professionally screen all of our tutors prior to hire.

Our expertise, coupled with our understanding of a student’s unique learning style, set us apart from other tutoring services.

Iustin Rosioara is the Managing Director and, together with his wife Wanda, co-owner of Math Addvantage and ACT Addvantage. He is an experienced professional in several industries and service areas. Along with a Master of Science degree in Electronic Engineering, Iustin holds certifications in the areas of Project Management, Computer Systems Engineering and Service Quality.

“I am privileged to have the opportunity to contribute to making students better prepared for challenges ahead and improve their chances to fulfill their destinies. In the area of math, where abstract thinking is a prerequisite, I am looking forward to developing and implementing strategies that bridge the gap between specific daily situations and their numerical representations.”

Laura Petersen

Laura Petersen has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked for 5 years in both manufacturing and design engineering of computer systems. She has been tutoring at Math Addvantage for 23 years.

“I feel fortunate that I have gotten to know so many students from tutoring — our students are the best! I am always inspired by the students who come to us so frustrated but continue to work really hard to gain understanding. Tutoring is really rewarding to me.”

Sue Knight

Sue Knight attended St. Olaf College and the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities where she studied psychology and education. She worked for 18 years in the travel industry before taking time off to raise her three children. She has been with Math Addvantage for 20 years.

“I love working at Math Addvantage!  I consider it a privilege to help students improve their math skills while getting to know each as a unique individual.  I strive to help each student gain confidence in his/her math abilities and believe that this in turn assists in their gaining further understanding.  It’s extremely exciting and rewarding to observe a student arrive at an ‘I got it’ moment.”

Jessica Fletcher

Jessica has a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, where she also worked in the Writing Center on campus. She worked as an Editor at Thomson Reuters before taking time off to raise her three children. She currently is an AVID tutor at Eagan High School. Jessica started tutoring with ACT Addvantage in 2014.

“I feel so fortunate to work at ACT Addvantage, where we have such amazing students and staff! Studying for the ACT exam can be a very intense and stressful time in a student’s life, and I really enjoy working with these young adults and helping them gain not only the skills, but also the confidence needed to succeed. I believe that the one on one attention we give our students, in addition to the fun and caring environment we foster, really sets ACT Addvantage apart from other tutoring centers!”

Will Sharpe

Will graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Mathematics. Will is our expert in the Math PLUS program, helping our youngest students do well. He has a strong love of Math and Science and is planning on pursuing a teaching degree. Will joined Math Addvantage in 2015.

“I love the challenge of math but also understand the frustration it can bring. Being the oldest of four siblings has taught me a lot about patience and persistence, especially when helping with math homework. If I can make a student smile while learning a subject they might not necessarily enjoy then I’ve done my job correctly.”

Mat Boehlke

Mathew Boehlke graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran College with a degree in Mathematics. While there, he earned several scholarship awards for performance in Mathematics. Mathew has worked with students of many different ages in the past, from working with elementary students in after school programs to tutoring undergraduate chemistry students while at WLC. Mat started working at Math Addvantage in 2015.

“I love to see the gears turn in a student’s mind.  Mathematics is not only relevant in our lives, but helps us develop problem solving skills, which are crucial no matter what we do.  I am happy if I can be a part of helping students succeed and not get discouraged, which is why I am grateful for the chance to work with Math Addvantage.”
